Custom display typeface inspired by Southwestern Folk art. When Alexander Girard was ten, he created the Republic of Fife, complete currency, stamps, maps, secret linguistics, and flags. His discovered documentation here. Discovering these artifacts inspired me to create an element required to complete this fictional utopia. So I asked myself, what if the Republic of Fife had a typeface? Named after the fictional country established by Alexander Girard, this typeface draws connections to themes in my personal life inspired by Folk art, the American Southwest, and youthful curiosity.
